Terms

These terms cover the Setout ("we") website at setoutbins.com, the block waitlist, and the texts and emails we send about it. By joining a list you agree to them. Last updated October 1, 2026.

The block waitlist

• Joining is free and there is no card to join. Joining doesn't commit you to buying anything.
• Your spot counts once you confirm it: reply YES to our text, or use the link in our email. The email link works for 7 days; after that, join again to get a new one.
• One spot per household (one address) per block. Use your own name and contact details; don't sign up someone else without their OK. We check that the address is on the block, and confirm the number or email, before a spot counts.
• When your block reaches its target, everyone who joined before we set the wash date and starts a subscription with a card on file gets their first wash free. After that, you pay per wash at the prices below. Before your first paid wash we'll give you a written service agreement with the price, the schedule and how to cancel; this page isn't that agreement.

• We may close a block's list if we can't serve that street. Nothing is owed to anyone on a list until a wash date is set.
• You can leave the list at any time: reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email hello@setoutbins.com.
• After you join, you get a link to share with neighbors. It carries a code that credits you when a neighbor joins through it. Send it to people you know; don't send it to people who haven't asked to hear from you.

Texts from Setout

If you tick the box when you join, you agree to: "Text me about my block and my wash date. Setout sends a few texts about your block, usually no more than 5 a month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help. Not required to join."

• Consent isn't a condition of joining or of buying anything. You can join by email instead.
• We text to confirm your spot, and about your block: when it is one house away, when it fills, when it needs a nudge, and to pick your wash date. Block updates go out between 9 am and 9 pm New York time, at most one every 48 hours. The confirmation text and the reply to a YES or HELP come right away.
• Message frequency varies; usually no more than 5 a month. Msg & data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to stop. It ends all texts from us to that number and removes your household from your block's count. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE and OPTOUT work too. You'll get one text confirming you're unsubscribed, then nothing more. To opt back in, text START to our number and email hello@setoutbins.com.
• Reply HELP or INFO for help, or email hello@setoutbins.com.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Emails from Setout

We email to confirm your spot and about your block, if you joined by email or didn't tick the text box. Every email carries its own one-click unsubscribe link. Using it stops future emails to that address, even if you join again later; it doesn't affect texts. To get emails again, email hello@setoutbins.com from that address.

The site

• Don't use bots, scripts or false details on the sign-up form, and don't try to work out who has joined a block. We rate-limit and block abuse.
• The site, the list and our messages are provided as they are. We do our best to send every text and email, but we're not responsible for one that arrives late or not at all, or for anything you lose because of it. Nothing here limits rights you have under New York law that can't be waived.
• These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York.
• If we change these terms, we change the date at the top. Joining or staying on a list after a change means you accept it. A change to what we text you about would need a fresh opt-in.
